Hi, my name's Abby and I'm an achiever.
But my achievements have come at the cost of my health.
The story of your health is the story of your life.
While I’ve earned respected professional achievements and became a national board certified health & wellness coach, it didn’t come without a price. Perhaps my story sounds familiar to your own.
My story
Like most people, the good and the not-so-good chapters of my life comprise my story. The ups and downs, highs and lows. In the earlier chapters, I prided myself on professional achievements and valued those way more than my health. In fact, I unintentionally sacrificed my health for those achievements (ie “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” mentality). In later chapters, these sacrifices caught up with me and my body screamed that something needed to change. It couldn’t go on like this. As health challenges began to manifest themselves, it felt like I was in a completely different body than the first 30 years of my life! I felt overwhelmed, defeated, and a sense that I was physically falling apart. But how could that be? I was only in my mid 30’s! Is this normal?! Surely this is not how it’s supposed to be.
“I’m falling apart”
You’re not falling apart. But life might be catching up with you.
After years of working with several practitioners, I learned that I wasn’t falling apart, but life was catching up with me. I was suffering from post birth control syndrome, my inflammation markers were off the charts, and my bloodwork showed significant deficiencies in critical vitamins, minerals, and hormones. The numbers on paper were manifesting physical challenges such as feeling like I was running on fumes, no sex drive, not sleeping through the night, suffering from adult acne spreading into neck rashes with an ever-growing concern that all of this would lead to even worse downstream health consequences like developing an auto-immune disease, thyroid problems, prediabetes, etc.
The 4 Pillars
It wasn’t until I was able to step away from my high stress corporate job, and take a role with more flexibility, that I was able to educate myself on what was going on with my body. I embraced a concept called the “4 pillars of health” which prioritizes real food, stress management, active movement, and ample sleep. Learning that it’s ok to say ‘no’ and keep these four pillars in balance helped me to reverse some of my health challenges and keeping them prioritized on my current to do list is a ticket for increased energy, weight loss, confidence, less stress, and insurance for long term health.
Get the 4 pillars in balance, achieve your goals, fulfill your purpose
The Next Chapter
The newest chapter in my story is pivoting from my 15 year corporate career to becoming a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and supporting others to achieve their biggest health goals. While this may read like a short story, overcoming my health challenges has taken several years. It’s been a gradual change of habits over many years. Small changes lead to big results. And that’s what we’ll do together. I am professionally certified and specialize in behavior change to support you in a highly personalized, collaborative setting that helps you achieve your health goals.
How do you change the course of a battleship? One degree at a time. Small changes lead to big results.
Who I Help
I help high achieving people who have unknowingly burned the candle at both ends find the energy and the time to prioritize their well-being so that they can keep achieving, leading, impacting without sacrificing their health any longer.
If your health has suffered so much that you don’t have the energy and you’re operating on fumes you’re not going to be able to achieve that next thing. Or if you do, something else is going to give. You’ve “robbed Peter to pay Paul” for so many years that there’s no more robbing that you can do.
Change is difficult, but coaching is powerful.
For some, there is a gap between wanting to be well and the everyday reality of our busy lives. Most people already know or have a sense of what they “should” be doing to improve health, fitness, and wellness but they just don’t know how to do it consistently. That’s where I can help. I’m trained how to work one-on-one with you to find sustainable solutions that will work for you in your daily life. I am filled with joy to know that I am a small character in your story, the story of how you accomplished your goals and become the person you’d like to be. Let’s write your next chapter together.
